Hyina
Found ditched in a garbage heap somewhere in the outskirts of Antipolo, this abandoned, almost lifeless dog wouldn’t have made it any longer if it wasn’t for the help of Ms. Geraldine Hitosis.

At first Geraldine thought that the dog was already dead, and so she took pity and wanted to at least give the creature a decent burial. But when she lifted the lifeless and defeated body, she felt that it was still breathing. Geraldine immediately rushed it to an animal clinic for emergency treatment even though she was clearly aware that she may not be able to take on the medical costs. The dog’s physical deterioration was definitely one of worst case. It wasn’t just suffering from mange and bacterial infections but parasites and malnutrition as well. It was in so much pain; its drool was constantly sopping from its mouth.

Geraldine afterward reached out to friends and animal rescue teams for support -where donors stepped in and extended their help. Intensive medical care was given. The dog was treated with antibiotics, medicine for parasites and frequent medicated baths. Slowly but surely, its spirit began to lift.
After months of thorough care and rehabilitation, this almost lifeless dog then, now named Hyina, is a young energetic pooch on his way to full recovery. He is one of the 4 dogs being fostered by Mr. Christian Bondoc of the Dog Walkers Club of Tarlac and is now up for adoption.

Hyina’s story now serves as an inspiration and a living proof that miracles happen. Great compassion was shown through an individual, which in turn created a ripple effect of concern from other kind hearted donors. From everyone's share of responsibility, they have changed one worst case of neglect and abandonment such as his.
